    Pre-military: Life Scout and Jr. Assistant Scoutmaster in Boy Scouts of America. Graduate of Boston English High School in 1942.
    Military: Enlisted private, US Army Air Corps, 1943; Graduate Tuskegee Army Air Field Flying School Class 44-G(SE) as 2nd Lt.; Combat fighter pilot training at Walterboro AAF 1944 in P-47 Thunderbolts; Assigned as Pilot, 100th Fighter. Sq., 332nd Fighter. Grip., 15th USAF, Italy 1945. 15 combat missions in P-51 Mustang. Separated to AAF reserves in December 1946; Retired USAF as LtCol in 1984.
    Military Awards: Air Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster; Pres. Unit citation; Mediterranean Theatre medal with 3 battle stars; American Theatre medal; WWII victory medal; Congressional Gold Medal for Tuskegee Airmen approved February 2006.
    Education: BSc, U Mass 1950; MA, U Nebr. 1952, Gamma Sigma Delta National Agric. Honor Society; U MD 1962-1964.
    Civilian: Agricultural Economist: U Mass Agric. Extension Svc. and U.S. Dept. Agric. Economic Res. Service. Retired as Director, Program Planning and Evaluation for USDA regulatory agencies (APHIS and FSQS) with over 30 years service.
    Life memberships: Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; NAACP; AFA, ROA, MOAA, American Legion, VFW, P-51 Mustang Pilots Assn. Also member of Fort Lauderdale Composite Sqdn, CAP and Ft. Lauderdale Power Sqdn.
