From a true patriot who proudly served his country:

"I was drafted into the army on November 24, 1941 and assigned to the 85th Coast Artillery. After December 7th, I requested a transfer to the Army Air Corps. On June 15, 1942 I was appointed Aviation Cadet. I graduated and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant October 3, 1942 and assigned to the 340th Bomb Group, 487th Squadron as Communications Officer.

"I left for overseas February 14, 1943 and arrived in Egypt on March 28, 1943. There I saw service in Libya, Tunisia, Sicily and Corsica. On December 18, 1945 I was transferred to the reserves and remained in the reserves until I was retired April 18, 1976 as a Lt. Colonel."
