    His love of flying came after a plane ride as a teenager, and then built many models. Enlisted Navy Air 1934-38, then into Civilian Air, getting Pilot License 1939 – Instructor and Commercial License 1940. Had his own plane taking up passengers and crop dusting -- some of this from the College Park Airport in Maryland. It is the oldest still operating airport in the world. He went into the Army Air Corps in 1942 as a Service Pilot. Then went into the U.S. Air Force as a Senior Pilot. He retired at Andrews Air Force Base in 1966 as a Lt. Colonel as a Command Pilot. Had a son get his license and now a grandson in love with flying.
