    I joined the Army Air Corp in 1940 as a flying Cadet. I served at many Air Force bases throughout the U.S. instructing new recruits in navigating and bombing. Once the war began, I was assigned as lead bombardier flying out of Great Ashfield and Bury St. Edmunds to missions over Germany with the 385th Bomb Group. I was decorated with the following AMW/1 OLC 90-153 HQ 8FF 1943. Croix de Guerre (France) W/1 Gold Star Fr Dec #341. 1945. AFLSA W5 BR OLC. Duc. WWII VM, DFC, ACM, ADSM, Cr. AFOUA. After the war I stayed in the Air Force retiring as a Lt. Colonel in November 1966 assigned to SAC HQ as 97th Armt Elect Maint. Squadron as Avionics Staff Officer.
