    Honored by:

    Commissioned a 2nd Lt. September 1943 in the U. S. Army Air Corps as a bombardier.
    Assigned to the new 467th Bomb Group, 789th Squadron as Bombardier and gunnery officer.
    Flew 33 missions with the 8th Air Force in England from February through August 1944 in a B-24 Liberator.
    Awarded DFC and four Air Medals.
    Returned to US in September 1944.
    Entered pilot training flying PT-17, AT6, etc. with a goal to fly A-26 Invader.
    Retired USAFR as Lt. Col. February 1970.
