Honored by:

LtCol Williams enlisted in the US Army Air Corps on 26 January 1942 and was commissioned on 26 September 1942. He served in the South Pacific Theater from December 1944 to November 1945 when he returned to the US for discharge.

He was recalled to the US Air Force in March 1951 and served until he retired in 1969. He was awarded an honorary plaque by the Royal Canadian Air Force for his duty as nuclear safety liaison officer from 1964 to 1967.
