Volunteered for service before Pearl Harbor with the RCAF/RAF and flew in England, Malta and North Africa. Transferred to USAAF in 1943. Volunteered for B-29s and flew 35 combat missions over Japan in 1944-1945. Served in Korea and Viet Nam. Commanded Fying units in Korea and Vietnam. Commanded Flying units and Base Units. Retired in 1974 as a regular officer with 30 years’ service (34 actual service in all branches).
