An early aviator, soloed in 1904, is remembered for his major contribution to Air Navigation and Air Safety. He invented, developed, and, along with 12 basic patents, demonstrated the Radio Direction Finder (RDF), also known as The Radio Compass. This system was used extensively by both military and civil aviation as a vast improvement in all-weather flight.
