William was born on October 23, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio. Bill enlisted in the Army Air Corps while a Junior at College in February, 1942. He flew C-47’s in India and SE Asia in WW II. Later he served the Air Force in Germany and the U.S., flying C-46’s, C-54’s, B-25’s, T-33’s and others. Most of his later career involved development of human factors, physiological, and safety advances. He retired in 1969.
