    Charles Carson graduated from West Point in June 1943. He flew 67 missions in the European Theater of Operations in the B-26 Martin Marauder.

    He commanded the 318th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS) (F-86-D), the 325th Fighter Group, the 440th FIS and the 525th FIS in US Air Force, Europe. He was the commander of the 833rd Air Division, Tactical Air Command.

    He was the chief of the Air Force advisory Group, Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, and flew 85 missions in various Vietnamese Air Force and US Air Force aircraft.

    He commanded the US Air Force Recruiting Service, the Air Force Military Training Center (Lackland Air Force Base, Texas), the Alaskan Air command, the 12th Air Force, and Tactical Air Command at Bergstrom Air Force Base, Texas. He held many other responsible positions during his 34 years of service.
