Born 1940. Son of Army Air Corp Glider pilot. Graduated Notre Dame (NROTC) 1962. Flight School then jet school. Assigned to Navy Coronado, CA. Then assigned to aircraft carrier US Bonne Homme Richard and Vietnam. Dean was shot down in July 1965. He is survived by his wite and a month later his only child a son. He is missed. As valedictorian and captain of his high school football team and an engineering graduate from Notre Dame his contribution to society were lost. Our country, however, benerfitted.
