Pilot F6F Hellcat with CAG 12 with CDR Charles Crommelin* on the aircraft carrier USS Randolph CV-15. He came back home OK. He now lives in the DC area.
* Charles Crommelin won a Distinguished Flying Cross by leading an air group during the Gilberts invasion in World War II and bringing his plane back despite 200 wounds, then insisting on debarking from the ambulance and visiting the Pearl Harbor Officers' Club "to show those kids it's not so tough to be shot up."
