Mr. Cork has Aerospace Engineering degrees from Purdue University and the University of Southern California.
He spent 33 years working for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) on unmanned planetary exploration.
Specific accomplishments of note include propulsion system design and analysis on the first planetary orbiter (Mariner 9), management of project Launch Approval efforts for Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators (RTGs) on Galileo spacecraft, and management of Technical Infrastructure Program at JPL.
