Byron Cecil {B. C.) Kistler is a United States Marine Officer
with active and reserve duty service from 1951 until 1963
attaining the rank of Major. B.C. joined the Marines after
    graduating from Purdue University.
B.C.'s love of aviation and airplanes began early in his life while a young man living in northern Indiana. He took private flying lessons 1956 to 1958 . While flying solo above Parkersburg, West Virginia, he remembers looking down to find: a flat area to land – just in case of engine trouble-the only thing he saw flat, was the Ohio River. One of his most recent flying memories took place on February 10, 2002 as he flew in a World War II AT-6. The highpoint of the flight was to‘take the stick’ and fly the plane.
B.C. has been an active member of the Baton Rouge Radio Control Club for 30 years, serving as Treasurer for the past 15 years. His participation in this local club has provided years of enjoyment and deepened his love of aviation.
His loving wife of 51 years, Doris, has provided the wording for this nomination. ___
