He was born June 3, 1925 in Charleston, WV to Dr. and Mrs. Moritz F. Peterson, and died January 21, 1999 at 73 years of age. He served in WW II as a fighter pilot, attended WVU and became a mechanical Engineer at Union Carbide Corp. for 35 years. He continued to fly with the WVANG for 20 years, and owned his own Cessna plane. He spent every minute possible at the Air and Space Museum, Washington, DC, which he dearly loved. (Son Maj. Jon F.
