WWII P-47 pilot, Ninth Air Force, 406th Fighter Group, 514th Squadron. Trained at Atcham field, Shrewsbury, England. Stationed at Mormenlon-Le-Grand, France. Shot down on a mission support of Gen. Patton on Dec. 17, 1944, near Trier, Germany. POW at Stalag Luft I, Compound 3, Barth, Germany. Joined reserves and after 29 years retired as a Major.
