I served in the United States Air Force in World War II stationed in the ETO with 322 Bomber Group, 449 Squadron. I flew 70 missions in a Martin B-26 Marauder, 27 were in Flak Bait, the B-26 Marauder now in the Smithsonian Institution. I received the Purple Heart and on one mission I was one of six Marauders that returned to Andrews Air Field on a single engine.
