    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Ms. Elizabeth J. Whistler

My interest in aviation came at an early age. I built many model airplanes. I learned to fly a J-3 at 14 and began flying many other aircraft by 19. I had my own charter service.
I went into cadets, flew F-86s in Korea. Then ferried all types of fighters across the North Atlantic and South America and the Caribbean. I flew over 10,000 hours in jet fighters to other aircraft. I flew A-37s and F-100s in Vietnam.
After I retired, I built a Bede 4 airplane and flew it for several years throughout the United States.
I have been a docent at the Air & Space Museum in Hampton, VA for over 10 years.
