    Major John L. Boudreaux is a fighter pilot who loves to fly. A native of Baton Rouge, LA he was commissioned through AFROTC at Louisiana State University in December 1972 and served for over twenty years with the United States Air Force, logging nearly 4,000 hours in 8 different fighter and trainer types. His years of dedicated service and combat readiness contributed to America's victory in the Cold War.

    A graduate of the Interceptor Weapons School and the Allied Air Forces Central Europe Tactical Leadership Program, he was a recognized expert in the tactical air-to-air operations and strategic air defense in both the F-15 Eagle and the F-106 Delta Dart. He spent countless hours on 5-minute air defense alert, launching on numerous active air scrambles to intercept unknown aircraft penetrating US and NATO airspace including Soviet "Bear" bombers flying off the US East Coast.

    He was also recognized as an expert in tactical exercise design, conceiving numerous evaluations testing unit combat capabilities in the Air Defense Command (ADC), Tactical Air Command (TAC), Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), and United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE). In addition to serving as an instructor pilot in the F-15 and F-106 he was also an Instructor Pilot in the T-37 primary trainer and the AT-38 tactical trainer. At the end of the Cold War he flew QF-100 and QF-106 full scale targets as part of several weapons test and development programs. His Air Force assignments include:

    Major John L. Boudreaux, USAF (Ret) currently flys as a Boeing 727 Captain for Federal Express. He is married to the former Jan D. Will of Baton Rouge. They have a daughter Allison, a son Jeremy, and schnauzers Max and Kafti. John will always be a fighter pilot and will always love to fly.
