    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Ms. Sandra L. Glynn

John P. Glynn has been a lifelong enthusiast of aviation and space exploration. His keen interest can be traced back to when he was a child growing up on a farm near Palmer, Nebraska. It was during this time that he had a chance to go watch the Apollo 11 moon landing on his grandfather's new color TV. Seeing that historic moment live set the stage for a lifelong interest in space exploration, further fueled by watching subsequent Apollo missions live in grade school, and enjoying TV shows like STAR TREK.

His aviation interests motivated him to study Mechanical Engineering in college, graduating with a BSME from the University of Nebraska in 1989. In parallel with a civilian engineering career, Mr. Glynn chose to join the Nebraska Air National Guard. He flew as a Weapons Systems Officer (WSO) on the RF-4C Phantom II jet aircraft and as a pilot on the KC-135R Stratotanker.

Mr. Glynn has worked for more than 15 years on the Navy's F/A-18 Hornet Program as a Design Engineer and Flight Test Engineer for the McDonnell Douglas and Boeing corporations, and as contract Avionics Systems Engineer supporting the Naval Air Systems Command.
