He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II as a bombardier and navigator. This began his love of flight and dedication to the USAF. He always spoke of those years as being his best. After he completed his active duty, he entered the U.S. Air Force Reserve where he shared his passion for flying by teaching courses for the Civil Air Patrol.
