In the United States Marine Corps (USMC) for 20 years as a (Naval) Marine Aviator during 1954 - 1972. Flew numerous types of both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft including A-Ds (A-1), R4D-6, R4D-8, C-54, C-131, H-14, H-34 and UH-1. Flew H-34s and R4D-8 in Vietnam (1965-66). Flew as commercial pilot at the Kwajalein Missile Range, Marshall Islands for 9 1/2 years flying DHC-4s (Caribou), DC-4s and L-188 Electras. FAA Air Carrier Operations Inspector for more than 20 years. Holder of ATP certificate with ratings in DC-3, DC-35, DC-4, CV-240, 340, 440, SK-58, B-727, V-737.
