Major Poehlman graduated from the USAF Academy in 1983 with a B.S. in Astronautical Engineering. He was the lead satellite operations director for AFSCF/VOH satellites.
He was selected to be the STS-28 Payload Communicator and successfully led the deployment of the second DoD shuttle payload in 1989. He contributed to a Charles Stark Draper Laboratory patent on satellite integrated attitude determination and control with his Master’s Thesis on High Accuracy Spacecraft Attitude Control using Nonlinear Feedback.
He continues his space career today with Scitor Corporation.
