    Newby Claude Tyson, born 06/03/1918 in Anadarko, Oklahoma Joined USAAC on 02/24/1940 and served in various commands until 05/21/1958, when he became regular USAF. Retired from USDAF as Major on 01/31/1968. A total of 28 years continuous service, Fling in BT-13/15s, AT-11s, B-17E/Fs, B-29s (4,000 hours), B-36D/Js (over 5,500 hrs.) B-52C/D/E/F/Gs (over 5,000 hrs.) plus time in KC-135s and C-130s. Based both overseas and stateside from 1940 -1968. Numerous certificates, citations, awards, and service medals awarded during his 28 years of participation in military aviation.
