Bud's long and colorful military career began in 1943 when he served in WWII as a crew member on a B-24 Liberator known as the "Monsoon Maiden." As a part of the China-Burma Campaign with the 308th Bombardment Group, 425th Squadron, Bud completed 36 missions and one jump after being downed over China.

After WWII, Bud joined the California ANG and trained in communications. Subsequently, his unit was activated and he served a tour of duty in Korea.

Following the Korean War, Bud served tours in Greenland, California, Georgia, Virginia, Great Briton, Mississippi, and North Dakota until 1963 when, for a third time, he was asked to serve his country again, this time in Vietnam.

After completing his tour in Vietnam, he was assigned to a BMEWS Sq. at Ent AFB, Colorado, where he retired from active duty in 1967.

Throughout his tours in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, Bud earned numerous medals and citations. Those most cherished were the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Retirement provided Bud with new opportunities, where he earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology / Criminology and transitioned to a new career in the civilian world.

Bud's dedication and service to his country will never be forgotten. His wife and four sons will hold him in their hearts forever!
