CG-4A (glider), C-47 (transport), B-29 (heavy bomber) pilot.

Participated in Operation Overlord (Normandy invasion) 6 Jun 1944; Landed glider inland from Utah Beach near St. Mere Eglise.

Participated in Operation Dragoon, a.k.a. Anvil (invasion of Southern France) 15 Aug 1944 as well as the liberation of Holland.

Postwar flew reconnaissance in the Middle East, including weather reconnaissance.
