Major Walter P. Linne, USAF (Ret), served in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1985 as a Command Pilot. He accumulated over 3,000 flight hours in the T-41, T-37, T-38, T-28 and AT-28 aircraft earning a pilot training Certificate of Doctorate.
He served in the Southeast Asia Conflict (SEA) and was awarded the Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Outstanding Unit Award with Valor, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon.
Decorations and medals include Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Combat Readiness Medal, AF Longevity Service Ribbon with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters National Defense Service Medal and AF Outstanding Unit Award with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters.
