    DONALD F. DARNELL died on March 19, 2001. He was exactly 75 years old. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marsha Snow Darnell of Fremont, his son Curtis Darnell of Fremont, daughters Linda Drlpps of Caldwell, Idaho, Jenyn Darnell of Placerville and Stacey Stephens of Fremont, his sisters Mary Ellen Robley of Venice and Ruth Mozley of Brownsville, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren
    Born in Wakefield, Nebraska, he served In the United States Army for 24 years, rising to the rank of major. He defended the freedom of the country In the Korean War as a company commander, earning two Silver Stars and the Purple Heart He retired from the Army in 1968 and the family moved to Fremont, where he remained a resident up-until his death. He earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Sociology and Psychology. He was a Marriage, Family and Child counselor for many years.
    He believed in freedom for all and individual responsibility. He loved his country, his wife and his children.
