    Jack started flying at 16 years old and earned his private license in 1937.
    He joined the Army Air Corps in November 1941 w/300 hours. During WW II he flew C-47s and dropper paratroopers – he earned the Triple Oak Leaf medal over Sicily, Italy and France.

    He left the Air Force as a Major in 1946 and stayed as a reserve officer until 1956. He first flew commercially for Penn Central in 1946 and retired from UAL in 1977 from DC 10s.
