    Commissioned 2nd LT, USAAC (Reserve), pilot 15 April 1944. Assigned 461 Bomb Group, 765 BS (Bomb Squadron), 49 BW (Bomb Wing), 15th Air Force, October 1944.
    Awarded Soldiers Medal for rescuing his flight engineer from their burning B-24 Liberator downed by anti-aircraft.
    Flew 13 missions and received the Air Medal.
    Recalled to active duty 15 April 1953 with a troop carrier group. Assigned to USAF Security Service in 1955 after completing crypto analysis school.
    Served oversea in Italy, Newfoundland, Japan, Thailand, and Germany.
    Retired as Major, USAF at the National Security Agency on 1 November 1970.
