Joseph Wight Meyer was a Major and a Pilot in the United States Marine Corps, WW II in the South Pacific. He flew with VMJ 353, later called VMR 353. He was first based in Samoa, then FunaFuti, Apamama, Kwajelein and Eniwetok.
He had a life-long love of aviation.
