    * One of first of six pilots to be returned to full, unrestricted flying status with an RBBB (Right Bundle Branch Block – a defect in the heart's electrical conduction system) under Dr. Kenneth Cooper’s research program. (During a 3.5-year physical in August 1965, grounded for 3 years.)
    * 21st Air Force Commanding General’s pilot for 1½ years in 1969-1970 after return to flying status.
