    Ronald flew Radio Control model airplanes as a member of the AMA. He received his student pilot certificate at age 17.
    While enrolled at the University of Puget Sound, he received an AFROTC scholarship
    and went on to become the Corps Commander. He graduated as a Distinguished
    Graduate and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1981.
    He was in one of the first Euro-NATO joint jet (ENJJPT) pilot training classes at
    Sheppard AFB, TX flying the T-37s and T-38s.
    After graduation from Sheppard, he flew OV-l0s in Europe and CA and was rated as an instructor and functional check pilot.
    He flew F-15s in Okinawa as a line pilot and Arizona and Florida as an instructor pilot.
    He joined the Louisiana Air National Guard as an Air Liaison Officer serving as a
    consultant to Army commanders on a wide range of aviation and airpower issues.
