    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

Maria was born to immigrant parents in Philadelphia, PA in the early 1920’s. She studied medical laboratory technology, which she practiced all her life, except during World War II. Then she worked for Connelly Containers of Philadelphia, PA, where she made Thunderbolts (P-47s). Specifically, due to her small size, she would inspect cowlings and tails from the inside. A tester union member herself, she constantly maintained quality despite piece work compensation of union members. Her brother was an Army Air Corp Pilot! She lived a long, complicated life, dying in March of 1999.

Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
