    Born June 22, 1917. Received commercial license and flight instructor rating Oct. 1941 from CPTP sponsored by the University of Tampa. Immediately hired as a U. S. Army Air Corps Flight Instructor at Carlstrom Field, FL, Arcadia, FL though Oct. 1943 when released to Grumman Aircraft Engineering Cop where he flew as a test pilot on J4F, JRF, F6F, F7F and F8F until Sept, 1945. Joined Pan American World Airways May 1946; retired as Captain June 1977. Early in his career he flew as First officer on Pan Am’s “Clipper Flying Cloud”, the Boeing B-307 on display at the Smithsonian Ai and Space Museum. Flew one of 19903’s last flights June 26, 1947, Miami – Havana-Miami. By coincidence the time his lob book for the round trip – 3:07!
