    ACTIVITIES:
    As individual researcher and supervisor, have been continuously involved in research studies related to the stability, control and handling qualities of aircraft. Contributions have been in areas of:
    - Improvement in the manner in which flying qualities requirements are specified.
    - Improvement in investigative techniques for stability and control studies, such as the pioneering use of flight and ground-based simulators for handling qualities research.
    - Contributions to methods and means of improving flying qualities of aircraft, operational procedures, and certification.
    - Expert advice for industry and other government agencies on problems of stability and control.

    INTER-AGENCY COMMITTEES:
    - Co-Chairman, Simulator Technology Team, NASA-DoD. Study to define research requirements.
    - Member, Air Force Scientific Advisory Board Team; study to define Air Force needs in simulation technology.
    - Captain, Stability and Controls Factor, Government Source Selection Team for the Supersonic Transport.
    - NASA representative, French/Anglo/United States Supersonic Transport (FAUSST) Working Group, to develop common certification standards for SSTs.

    HONORS:
    NASA Medal for Exceptional Scientific Achievement for "Improvements of handling qualities of aircraft and advancement of investigative techniques using simulators to study stability and control problems."

    PROFESSIONAL SOCIETY: Member of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
