    Mayoe Porter Ridley was born January 16, 1918 in Kiowa, Kansas to John and Mayoe Porter, and moved to Guymon in 1920. She graduated from Guymon High School in 1937, and graduated in 1940 from Hill’s Business University in Oklahoma City with a Business Degree.
    She was married to Robert W. buster on June 19, 1936. They moved one and a half miles east of Guymon in January of 1943, where she has resided for the past forty-nine years. On June 10, 1961, Mayoe married Melvin R. Ridley, President of the Guymon Federal Land Bank Association. Mayoe has four sons, Robert W. Buster, Jr., John A. Buster, James L. Ridley and Tim D. Ridley, four grandchildren, Mitchell, Grant, Heather and Audrea Buster and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Amanda Buster.
    Mayoe has always been very active in the community. She is a member of the Victory Memorial Church. She is member of Chapter AM, P.E.O., Sisterhood, where she has held all the offices and is a two-term past president. She is a member of High Plains chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and held the office of Treasurer for ten years, Chapter Librarian for nine years and is a past regent. As Chapter Librarian, she continues to be interested in the expansion of the books and microfilm in the genealogy section of the Guymon Public Library, Society of Magna Charta Dames, the Guymon Chapter 419 Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary and Tri K Bridge Club. In 1992 she received the Beta Sigma Phi Award “Woman of the Year”.
    Mrs. Ridley made her solo flight in 1962. She is a member of the Ninety-Nine Club, which is an international organization of Women Pilots. She is a private pilot.
    She has been employed with the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, Southwestern Public Service, and has interests in agriculture.
