Assigned Strategic Air Command 15 years; flew B-17, B-24, B-29, B-47 bombers. Radar Navigator on first B-17 ever to overfly North Pole, first aircraft of any type to overfly North Pole from base in Greenland (7/27/47). Radar mapped Northern Greenland in 1947, discovered new geographic features. Specialized in radar bombing, radar target prediction, Soviet surface-to-air missile deployment Assigned high-level War-Plan and Intelligence positions at HQ, SAC; JCS; Vietnam; HQ, USAF; Defense Intelligence Agency; Pacific Air Forces; European Command; commanded USAF Security Command 1974-75
