    Born October 23, 1909 in North Tonawanda, N.Y. Graduate School of Aeronautics, New York University (NYU) and Air Corps R.O.T.C. 1931. Commissioned 2nd Lieut. Air Reserve. Graduate Army Air Corps Flying Schools 19327. Pilot and Squadron Engineering Officer in Panama Canal Zone and Mitchell Field, NY 1932-34. Awarded degree of Aeronautical Engineer NYU 1934. Sales and Service Engineer Lycoming Division, AVCO 1934-38. Commissioned 2nd Lieut. Air Corps Regular Army October 1, 1938.

    Duties as pilot and engineering officer over the years included;
    Project Officer in Washington HQ Army Air Corps for the first American aircraft jet engines and for B-29 aircraft modifications and secret activation of 509th Bomb Group to deliver the first two atomic bombs.

    Promoted to Major General and assigned Director of Research and Development in HQ U.S. Air Force 1958. Organized and commanded the Research and Technology. Division (AFSC) with eight Air Force Laboratories 1962-67.

    Awarded honorary degree of Doctor of Science by New York University I967. Appointed Senior Member, Military Armistice Commission in Korea by United Nations 1967. Assigned as Commander Chanute Technical Training Center, Illinois l967-69.

    Assigned Assistant to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff for Arms Control dealing with first SALT treaties I969-7I.

    Retired by my friend Robert Seamans, Secretary of Air Force with the award of my second Distinguished Service Medal November 1971.
