    Entered U.S. Army Signal Corps (Aviation Section) Long Island, N.Y. 1917 – Ground School at Cornell Univ. Commissioned Pilot/2nd Lt. Kelly Field, Texas and then Ellington Field, Texas, 1918. Relieved active duty 1919 and pursued international banking career in London, Paris, and New York. Returned to active duty U.S. Army Air Corps January, 1942 and assigned as Liaison Officer to HQ, Lord Louis Mountbatten’s Commando’s London. Dieppe Raid 1942 – Invasion of North Africa, November 8, 1942 - Morocco – Awarded Congressional Medal of Honor for Bravery at Port Lyautey. Asst. Air Intelligence, Eisenhower HQ until March, 1943. Assigned to HQ U.S.A.A.F. 1943, to NATO HQ 1951 as Chief of Air Plans and Policy. Retired 1952 as Dep. Chief of Staff, Ops and Plans – Chief of Policy Div., HQ U.S.A.F.
