Michael and Amy Hurley each lead the design of a subsystem in the Clementine spacecraft. Clementine returned America to the Moon in 1994, nearly 25 years after Apollo. Clementine provided the first map of the entire lunar surface. Clementine also provided the first evidence that water existed at the Moon’s South pole. Clementine was designed and built by the Naval Research Lab in Washington, DC.
