His friends & colleagues at the FAA

Michael Naud was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a longtime resident of Longmont, Colorado. He worked as an F.A.A. technician for 32 years. During that time he traveled to many remote yet beautiful parts of the United States in order to maintain a significant number of the nation's aerial-navigation equipment. Not surprisingly, he was an avid amateur photographer who loved to photograph aircraft and aerial-navigation aids, often framed by a stunning backdrop of snow-capped Rocky Mountain peaks, or from an equipment site high in the mountains themselves!

In addition to his love of photographing airplanes, Michael took great delight in simply watching them. For instance, in 2013 he was very excited to see one of the first commercial flights of Boeing's 787 Dreamliner pass over his house . . . at 10,000 feet!

Michael was not only passionate about airplanes and photography, but also his Church, local golf courses, ski slopes, and hiking trails. He was also a talented musician and guitar enthusiast who, as a member of a Beatles tribute band, played as George Harrison for twelve years.

Michael gave joy to many people, whether it was through his hobbies or his constant readiness to offer a helping hand and a welcoming smile.

    He will be missed.

But he'd think it was really cool (and humbling) to have his name on the Wall of Honor!

Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
