    Mr. Burrus was with Rocketydne and Space Divisions of Rockwell International, now Boeing Corporation, for 38 years. He worked as a test engineer and manager in testing F-1 rocket engines at Edwards Air Force Base. He was also project engineer on the checkout of the Apollo spacecraft in Downey, California, and manager of space shuttle engine and component testing in Canola Park, California. This included a two year special assignment at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi working on propellant conservation.

    Mr. Burrus holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and is a licensed mechanical engineer in California. He retired from Rockwell in 1996 and became an adjunct instructor at the University of Oklahoma in mechanical and aeronautical engineering.
