    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

Mr. Macdonald's love of aviation began when he volunteered for the Naval Air Corps during World War II at the age of seventeen where he served as a machinist mate in various locations on the East Coast. He has passed this love of aviation to all five of his children, taking them to air shows in many locations and encouraging their interest in aviation engineering and the space program. His more than fifty years of involvement with the Boy Scouts of America which earned him the George Meany Award and the Silver Beaver has reached its culmination in the formation of an Air Explorer post at the local airport. This post allows teenagers with an interest in flight to explore the possibilities and gives them hands-on exposure to all aspects of flight, from maintenance and plane construction, to flight planning and aeronautics. Mr. Macdonald has been instrumental in forwarding the dreams and aspirations of many young minds toward the wonders of flight.
