I have known Mr. Anura C. Perera for many years, and admire his many endeavors and activities in the popularizing astronomy and astronautics in Sri Lanka.
Mr. Perera has been contributing popular science articles to Sri Lankan newspapers and magazines, and has also published a number of books in Sinhala on astronomy and space travel. He has performed a valuable service in disseminating information on these subjects in the local languages.
Mr. Perera also founded the “Ceylon Interplanetary Society” in the early 1960’s, and has been involved in promoting astronomy through the “Sri Lanka Planetarium” and various scientific organizations.
