Honored by:
Mr. David Kiel
In October 2000, Mr. Arthur O. Kiel completed fifty years of service as a design engineer for the Goodyear Aerospace Blimp program. His dedication to keeping “the Blimps” flying has taken him to locations across the U. S. and Great Britain in order to assist with post-crash reconstruction and new construction efforts. No aspect of the Goodyear Blimp escaped his meticulous attention – from widgets to trailers tonight sign systems. He is a respected and popular figure at the Blimps’ home base at Goodyear’s Wingfoot Lake near Akron, Ohio. Wherever he goes, he spreads his contagious enthusiasm for these amazing flying machines. He is affectionately known as the Blimp’s “goodwill ambassador” by friends and family.
