Brenton received first place for his National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Student Involvement entry, titled "Watching Earth Change," for the competition at the NASA Langley Research Center.
Brenton was a sixth grade student at Ravenscroft School, Raleigh, NC at the time.
