    Designated a Naval Aviator at the close of WW II. Received B. S. Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1952. Employed by McDonnell Aircraft Corp., later McDonnell Douglas Corp., as an Aerodynamics Engineer specializing in aerodynamic stability and control. Contributed to the development of several contemporary fighter aircraft. Following award of the Mercury Program to McDonnell joined a group performing conceptual studies for utilizing the Mercury spacecraft to demonstrate flight techniques that would be useful to the Apollo Mission. Following award of the Gemini Program participated in, and then led, the development of flight software, mission plans and mission rules for each Gemini flight. Established a McDonnell division near the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston and continued involvement in all U. S. manned spaceflight programs up to and including the International Space Station. Retired as Vice President from McDonnell Douglas Corp. in 1990 and became President of GB Tech, Inc., a position held until late 1999.
