David’s first essay was on the first car that flew, written at age 5. At age 12, he still has no desire to drive on roads, but wants to pilot a plane, helicopter, or gyrocopter. He’s had dozens of software programs for fun and his favorite for ages was Flight Simulator. He’s met John Glenn, Story Musgrave, and an Apollo 13 astronaut. At age 11, he took a college course that examined technological disasters such as the tragic Shuttle explosions.
