My grandfather had a childhood interest in airplanes, beginning with making own solid fuel for rockets to training in welding at parks and college in St. Louis.
Worked for Taylorcraft welding tail sections. Then during the war, built assault gliders in Greenville, MI. Afterwards, the company built parts for early jet engines.
